Today the NHS and charity groups are asking us to think about our kidney health. Take the opportunity on World Kidney Day to fill in a quick test on issues that might affect your kidneys. You may be recommended to see your GP for a kidney function test depending on the results. Our kidneys filter our entire blood volume 20 times a day - that's a lot of work! Many factors can influence how well your kidneys work, including age, medication, blood pressure, diabetes and infections. If your kidney function starts to get worse, it's better to know sooner rather than later, as a lot more can be done to stop the problem. Take the test, limit your salt intake and keep well hydrated to ensure you are looking after your kidney health.
